Description

The Doublewall clubs feature a classic low-profile head design, borrowing its look from the very styles that made the game what it is today. The driver is a refined, technologically advanced, high performance titanium driver. It features a 400cc classic "pear" shape head design with a retro-classic groove pattern from the persimmon days.

How can a 400cc head be as forgiving and long as a 460cc? By adding a second wall 8mm behind the titanium face and condensing the volume, the head has better structural integrity and allows the entire face of the club to respond in a way that provides multiple hot spots. The traditional sweet-spot is no longer just in the middle of the face, we have created a the whole club face to feel and react like a driver hit right on the "screws". Here is more information regarding the testing of the Doublewall technology.

BioMechanica, an expert biomechanical engineering firm that provides counsel to the USGA and builds the golf club testing cannons that are standard in the golf industry, was hired to test the Doublewall technology. The test results are amazing. BioMechanica found that the hitting the Doublewall off-center (like most of us do) will only decrease your performance by 2.9%. That's 18% better than the nearest competing club for off-center hits!

Ron P. rated this product * * * * * on 04/15/12 Finally got this club out on the range and course enough to update my earlier review. I'm impressed w/ the overall performance. The ball seems to fly off the face when I swing it correctly and not try to kill it. The club will do the work if you take a good, easy swing. Tommy was right with his comment that the 10.5 loft will play more like a 9.5 loft. The Adila shaft is a great compliment to the club head.

Ron P. said the following about this product on 04/06/12 I just received this club via UPS. Shipping was on time as usual, packed well, and the club looks fantastic. Good feel and sound as I hit a couple of practice balls into the woods behind the house. As soon as I get this club out on the range/course, I will leave a rating review. According to Tom, this club is a pre-owned/demo club but it sure looks new. No scratches and barely any ball marks on the face that i can see.

Eric rated this product * * * * * on 11/24/11 I have the older 360cc model with a stiff Graffally shaft at 62 years old I hit between 250 and 20 yards with it. It is a solid club, I bought it used and consider myself lucky to have it. The smaller head size allows me to keep my swing speed up. It is a very forgiving club, and sounds just awesome when well hit! Thanks Pinemeadow.

Ferdinand rated this product on 03/07/11 Why would anyone pay around $200 for a technology since its review came out: Review: Doublewall Driver By Brent Kelley, About.com April 15, 2004 This driver is already obsolete!!!
Preston Hale responds with Thanks for the post and good find on the review. You are right that club was reviewed in 2004 however, that was the older 360cc version of the club. We updated to a 400cc model as you see above when the industry started moving to bigger drivers. Let us know if you need anything else.

Jeremy rated this product * * * * * on 08/19/10 I was the very first guy to write a review for this club years ago. I'm getting close to becoming a scratch golfer, and I never thought I'd keep the same driver so long. It is pretty much the only pinemeadow club left in the bag, and, for good reason. I have no complaints with the club except that I think the stock shaft is too whippy. I switched shafts to a stiff Enzo Zone shaft (btw, I highly recommend Pinemeadow to hook up with the Enzo shaft company to start up a deal--they are willing to offer their shafts to smaller companies only). With the new shaft in, my accuracy has dramatically increased, and my drives have more of a tour trajectory on them. I weigh 130 pounds and drive the ball 270-280 on average. I'm not saying you'll drive like the pros with this driver, but you will find that it helps a whole lot. Lastly, a little tip: if you think you're losing yards with this driver, tee it up lower while keeping the ball position foward. I believe that the best place to hit the ball on the club is a bit lower than some of the other high-end golf clubs out on the market. Thanks again Pinemeadow!
